Three Months to Go

Things have been going quite well for the past few weeks. My hip pain is now all gone. I've done some longer runs (14 miles is my longest so far). Winter seems to have hit here, so I get to feel "hard core" when I come back from a run.

The Nike Women's Half Marathon is in 8 days, and I'm getting excited about that. I haven't altered my marathon training at all, but I think it will fit in nicely. I have offered to run with anyone in our group who wants company (as long as they're slower than me), but if no one takes me up on my offer, my plan is to run with the 4:15 marathon pace group. This is the time I'm targeting in January, so I want to see how the first half feels at that pace. I feel like it would be a confidence booster if I feel strong through the half at that pace with 12 weeks (and my longest runs) still to go. The time would not be a PR, but wouldn't be too far off, and would help me practice my even pacing.

I had thought about doing the Last Chance Half Marathon in November, but now that won't be possible, as John will be away that weekend. So the NWM will likely be my last timed race before the marathon.
