Well, it's now down to 9 weeks until the marathon. With a 3 week taper, that means I only have 6 weeks of hard training to go. Hard it will be, with 20, 21, and 22 mile runs to go. I've done two 18 mile runs now - the first didn't go all that well, but the second went much better. Lately I've been feeling more confidence in my running, and feel that I may actually be able to finish the marathon.
As of right now, I'm planning to target a 4:30 marathon, and hopefully will run with the pace group for the duration. I am hoping to do a 10K race on December 13th (Run for the Elves), which would assist me in dialing in a proper goal for the race.
I'm starting to get a little bit excited about our vacation and the race. With Christmas in the interim, I know the time will go quickly.
