Mondays....Ugggh

This week I realized without a doubt that Mondays are the least favourite day on my training schedule. Mondays are now for hill repeats; which really weren't too bad for the first couple of weeks. It started with 3 hills, but has been adding one per week, so this week was 6 hills. By the end of 6, I was pretty much spent. It keeps building, until I hit 9 hills. I have so much to look forward to the next 3 weeks! The hill repeats have also impacted my Tuesday runs. Tuesday is just a regular run day, but my legs have been dead the last couple of weeks. In my mind, I know that this is to prepare me for the last few miles of the race, when I feel like I have nothing left in my legs.

On the plus side of my training plan, after my 8.5 mile run last week (LSD) I soaked in a cold water tub for about 10 minutes. Although it is difficult to start, it felt pretty good after a while. I really have to rave about the rest of the day though - I felt great! The cold water bath (we have really cold water, so ice is unnecessary) will be a part of my LSD for the rest of the way. I have a date with an ice bath on January 10th too.
