Well, I managed to do a 7.5 mile run yesterday. Including my warmup and cooldown, the total distance was about 8.1 miles, making it my longest distance on my feet since I started training in February. From here on out, except for one cutback week, my long slow days will be new distance records for me.
I decided to buy new shoes yesterday too. I stopped into the Running Room, and my shoes were on sale, so I figured it was a sign. Good thing I tried them on too, as I ended up with a different size than I would have ordered online. (I have boat feet, and wear an 11 wide women's, so I wanted to buy men's regular width, as they are much more readily available) I think I will immediately retire my old shoes, but keep them in reserve for any outside runs I manage in the next 8 weeks. That way I won't feel bad if they get some dirt on them.
I'm still waiting for Disney to upload the group registrations, but I think it will be soon since all the races are closed now. (The marathon finally filled this week)
